Designing a vacation rental in Park City, Heber, or Midway Utah

After designing a quite a few vacation rentals, Airbnb, and Vrbo’s in Utah. I thought I would gives some tips and tricks of the trade.

Tips and Tricks for Vacation Rentals

After five years of experience of vacation rental interior design in Park City and Heber, Utah. Here are some essential tips I've gathered:

  • Know Your Clientele

Understand who you're catering to—families, a younger crowd, retirees seeking peace, or a mix of all three. Knowing your target audience is crucial when selecting furniture and designing the space.

  • Measure Twice, Buy Once

Accurate measurements are key. As an interior designer, I personally visit each property to take field measurements. I then draw up the space and create a furniture layout to ensure everything fits perfectly. This step is vital for maximizing sleeping arrangements in vacation rentals. No one wants to buy a sofa only to find it doesn't fit during installation. My interior design services can be a la carte, so if you need help with space planning, I can assist.

  • Create a Mood Board

A mood board ensures all furniture pieces are cohesive and harmonious. It helps visualize the overall look and feel of the space before making any purchases.

  • Don’t Forget the Art

Digital art is an affordable way to fill blank walls and appeal to your specific audience. It adds character and charm to the space without breaking the bank..

  • Invest in High-Performance Fabric Furniture

This is a critical step. Opt for high-performance fabrics that are kid-friendly, stain-resistant, and durable. MaryKate Interiors Shop offers a variety of high-performance sofas in different fabrics. I recommend fabric upholstery in Crypton over leather, as it is more affordable and better suited for vacation rentals.

  • Use White Linens

White linens, bedding, and towels are essential. They provide a clean, fresh look, and guests can easily see that they are clean.

Best, Kate
